Most appliance companies treat the GTA as one market. We do not, because the appliances in a 2004 Cornell subdivision, a Thornhill condo tower and a Kingscross estate fail in completely different ways, and the truck has to be stocked for the town it is going to.

The 2000s and 2010s subdivisions across Richmond Hill, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket and Stouffville were finished with matching builder packages, Whirlpool, GE and Frigidaire in the earlier waves, Samsung and LG in the later ones. Those units are now ten to twenty-five years old and fail on schedule, street after street: fridge defrost systems and evaporator fans, washer drain pumps and door seals, dryer heating elements, dishwasher drain pumps. We carry all of those parts because we replace them every day.

The condo corridors along Yonge, Highway 7 and Sheppard run 24-inch stacked laundry, compact dishwashers and counter-depth fridges that a lot of shops decline. We service them in place, book the service elevator, and give the concierge notice.

The estate homes in Aurora, King City, Bayview Hill, Angus Glen and the Willowdale rebuilds run Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Thermador and Bosch on factory parts. We diagnose them like any other appliance and order the part before a second visit.

And across the northern half of our area, Aurora, King City, Stouffville, Oak Ridges and parts of Newmarket, well water and hard water put mineral scale in dishwashers, ice makers and washer valves, so it is the first thing we check.

What we repair

• Fridge repair: not cooling, freezer icing up, water on the floor, ice maker stopped. No-cooling calls go to the front of the schedule.
• Washer repair: won't spin or drain, leaking, error codes, banging on spin. Front-load, top-load, stacked and combo units.
• Dryer repair: no heat, clothes still damp, squealing. Electric, gas and ventless, with the vent checked on every call.
• Dishwasher repair: not draining, dishes still dirty, leaking. Built-in and compact.
• Oven and stove repair: oven not heating, burner dead, gas won't light. Ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and induction, with gas work by a licensed technician.

What it costs

The diagnostic visit is $89 and includes a flat-rate quote. Go ahead with the repair and the $89 comes off the bill, so you never pay twice. Most repairs land between $150 and $450 with parts and labour, and the majority finish in one visit because the common parts are on the truck. How a repair works

1. Call or book online. Tell us the appliance, the brand and what it is doing. We give you a real arrival window.
2. Diagnostic visit, $89. The technician confirms the fault and quotes a flat price before touching anything. If it is not worth fixing, we say so.
3. Repair, usually the same visit. The common parts are on the truck. The diagnostic fee comes off the bill.
